SUMMARY:Anarchist Breakfast Club
DESCRIPTION:Hackney Anarchists are back conquering bread 🍞 \nEvery second Sunday of the month find us at the centre of Hackney downs cooking together\, sharing food and discussing politics.   \nOur food is free to share with whomever might need it or want it. Everyone is welcome\, no questions asked. \nWe are hoping to share food and its preparation with those who want to join. Come at 11 to help us prep and cook. This is also a joyful way to have political conversations and develop mutual aid tools. \nThis is a shared process and everyone can get involved however they want. We also welcome ingredients\, leads for food sourcing\, recipe suggestions (vegan)\, or just your company. \n🍲 Abolish the bourgeoise butter bean! We feed ourselves 🏴

SUMMARY:HA! Fundraiser for Rojava
DESCRIPTION:On Friday 10th of April\, we will be at the Royal Sovereign to raise vital funds for the humanitarian support needed by our comrades in Rojava. Stay tuned for more information\, bands\, and DJ’s to be announced. \nRojava is beset by fascist theocratic invasions on every corner. Under constant attack by regional powers with multimillion dollar technological arsenals. Under threat of territorial incursion\, massacres & genocide. Every day is an existential fight to protect what has been earned with years of struggle. Despite this\, Rojava’s light shines ever so bright\, as a powerful living example of an internationalist women-led social revolution in practice\, as an unceasing inspiration and reminder to anarchists across the world that another world is possible. That is what Rojava means to us. \nWe cannot and Rojava cannot rely on treacherous states for support\, look at the orange man in the White House\, or at David Lammy in Tottenham withdrawing all support for the KCC once he moved into government. The scene in Hackney and London relies on our Kurdish comrades and it is time for us to extend our solidarity in return. Solidarity is not a moment it’s a muscle. Keep exercising it! \n

SUMMARY:Creativity and Mutual Aid: Creative Anarchy Part 3
DESCRIPTION:For the final session\, we will collectively explore the connections between creative practice and mutual aid. How might we enact collective creative practices with collective care at the centre? How do we artistically reject the lures of reform and charity? How can we find more creative approaches to our mutual aid practices in ever more dire and urgent contexts? For this session Ruari will be in discussion with artist Ruth Catlow and members of trans collective and mutual aid group We Exist! We will then collectively discuss the session topic\, draw some conclusions from the series as a whole\, and hopefully find some new comrades and collaborators in the process. \n‘Creative Anarchy’ is an event series exploring the relationships between anarchist thought\, organising\, and creative practice. Resulting from a placement at the Mayday Rooms\, researcher Ruari Paterson-Achenbach will host a series of discussions around materials in the archive\, alongside creative practitioners\, trying to explore what it might mean to ‘create anarchically’. What might it mean to consider creative practice a form of direct action\, or vice-versa? How can artists incorporate the principles of mutual aid into their work? Is the notion of ‘art’ compatible with anarchist thought? Across these three events\, we will answer these questions together using historical examples\, with all the possibilities and limitations they might offer us.

SUMMARY:Terrorists: The Kids They Sentenced
DESCRIPTION:When the anti-globalisation protests at the 2001 European Union summit in Gothenburg turned violent\, the Swedish government took swift and decisive action. Some 460 protesters were arrested and 14 of them received long prison sentences. The government deemed the rioters “terrorists”. One of those detained was Stefan Jarl’s son. In their film\, Jarl and Lukas Moodysson paint a different picture of the conflict. In moving interviews\, young activists talk about their motivation for participating in the protests\, voice their criticism of an inequitable economic order\, and relate their traumatic experiences facing state forces.\nJoin us for a screening and discussion with a guest from Gothenburg.\nDoors open from 6pm\, screening starts at 7pm.

SUMMARY:BOOK LAUNCH: 'A Studious Use' with Giovanni Marmont
DESCRIPTION:A Studious Use. Designing from the Undercommons. \nJoin us for some radical thinking\, some real radical autonomist thinking\, with one of our favourite vanguardist publishers\, Minor Compositions. Come and celebrate the publication of another vital\, alert and mind bending work of theory. \nA Studious Use invites readers to reconsider the habitual logics and material priorities at play in practices of both study and use. It examines their potential and actual interplay\, unravelling the ways in which these are at once shaped by and reproductive of broader social\, political\, and cultural currents. Here Giovanni Marmont explores how a seemingly inoffensive commitment to the terms of individuation\, as a manner of understanding and organising the world first and foremost as an aggregate of separate entities\, carries with it profoundly harmful implications. With an eye toward the unseen possibilities of social life\, he proposes an alternative mode of engagement with and through artefacts – studious use – predicated instead on our general\, shared\, practical indebtedness. Through a blend of theoretical critique\, philosophical inquiry\, and experimental design practices\, A Studious Use offers a rethinking of sociality not as a coming together of independent\, if interacting subjects and objects but\, rather\, as a primary\, undirected\, ongoing collective experiment. \nAuthor of For a Pragmatics of the Useless\,Erin Manning says: “How do practices dispossess us? How does use reorient the very question of function and form? Where else can it take us beyond our-selves? In this compelling engagement with use-beyond-use-value\, Marmont takes us on a journey to a non-binary account of use that refuses the limited account of any marketable claim. Instead\, it moves use toward the surprise of constellations as experimental as they are quotidian.” \nAs always\, tickets are priced on a sliding scale. If you are unable to pay for a ticket please do not hesitate to contact us at shop@housmans.com\, and a free ticket will be made available. \nIf you choose ‘book +entry’ your copies of the book will be available to collect on the evening. If you would like to collect it earlier\, or arrange for delivery\, please contact us (postage is £2.95). Telephone 020 7837 4473 or email shop@housmans.com. \nDoors Open at 6:45pm\, Event Starts 7:00.

SUMMARY:Shooting Daggers - Nothing Works - Tomar Control - Emergency Broadcast
DESCRIPTION:CASH PISTACHE – MOOR BEER VAULT\, LONDON \nExplosive date mixing politically infused punk and hardcore from Peru to Germany\, \nSHOOTING DAGGERS – LONDON\nShooting Daggers is a dynamic\, hardcore punk band from London\, known for their intense energy\, raw sound\, and fiercely progressive lyrics. Their music blends aggressive guitar riffs\, driving bass lines\, and relentless drumming\, creating a powerful sound that channels the spirit of classic hardcore with a modern edge. The band’s lyrics tackle themes like social justice\, gender equality\, and personal empowerment\, resonating strongly with our ethics as a fest. With passionate live performances and a DIY ethic\, Shooting Daggers is quickly making a name in the punk scene for both their talent and their commitment to activism. \nNOTHING WORKS – BERLIN\nNOTHING WORKS is an international hardcore band based in Berlin. Their songs are filled with urgency\, honesty\, and confrontation. Blending raw emotion with sharp critique. It’s personal and political. Cathartic\, direct\, and heavy with intent. Musicwise influenced by bands like Drug Church\, Bikini Kill\, Gouge Away and At the Drive-In.\nThey are now touring Europe and UK and we’re glad to have them stopping by London \nTOMAR CONTROL – PERU\nTomar Control had much success all over Europe during their first tour last year\, and we’re glad to welcome them again at The Vault for their second EU/UK tour. This all female band plays old school hardcore with a good dose of feminism and social commentary in their music.\nQuoting @laststopsounds from their gig last year in Northwich –\n“Musically they are hardcore punk with a lot of rock n roll. Sharp\, aggressive and with great songs a plenty. They fly from straight edged motifs via hardcore sounds to high energy punk flawlessly.”\nAnd that nails it completely! \nEMERGENCY BROADCAST – LONDON\nEmergency Broadcast is a band\, amining to be sound of marginalised ideologies and crews with punk/hardcore riffs. Have lyrics all against to sexism\,homophobic attitude\,inequality\,racism and all the government systems. Formed in 2012. Since the year 2016 our group has been vegan\, Straight Edge and Anti-Fascist. \n  \nTickets www.instagram.com/cashpistache.promotion/

SUMMARY:Unfurling Māori & Pasifika Print Publishing: A Group Study Session at the Feminist Library
DESCRIPTION:https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/unfurling-maori-pasifika-print-publishing…\nJoin publisher Kaiya Waerea in a group study session exploring the Feminist Library’s collections relating to Māori & Pasifika feminist organising in the late 20th century. Together we will look at key periodicals including Bitches\, witches & dykes (1980-82) and Broadsheet (1972-1997) and reflect on questions including:\nHow have indigenous practises of knowledge sharing and collective decision making gone on to shape authorship\, editorial processes\, and collective organising within indigenous publishing practices?\nWhat does it mean to consider print a diasporic medium? How did this material get here\, and what does that tell us about the movement of people and knowledge between settler colonised land and the land of the coloniser through time?\nHow has indigenous feminist publishing in the South Pacific diverged from and resisted the norms of imported white feminism? \nKaiya will share a bit about his work so far with some of this material\, then we will spend most of the session browsing\, reading and discussing what we find together.\nThis hui will prioritise people of the South Pacific diaspora\, as well as those that relate to the material through other indigenous positionalities\, to connect and learn from this whakapapa of mana wāhine & takatāpui publishing. \nThis will be an informal session\, and koreoro will be followed by some food.

SUMMARY:Fundraiser for Shü-Mom Art ~ "One Spirit"
DESCRIPTION:7pm – Screening of “Frágil Equilibrio”\, dir. Guillermo Galoe (Goya 2017 to best feature documentary). Shared by the director exclusively for this benefit.\nEnglish Subtitles to Spanish\, French\, Bambara\, Japanese.\nhttps://www.panoramica.film/en/pelicula/628382305b58b0b6122da505 \n  \n8:30pm – Call with Shü-Mom Art members from Tangier + introduction of participating London groups. \n9:30pm onwards – Live acts! in the following order: \n* Lizzy & Billy in their debut as fiddle & acordeon duo! Will be playing a mix of French\, Irish and Scottish folk. \n* Olga Glazova plays and sings her songs with the Russian traditional gusli instrument. Leading promoter of the gusli instrument in the non-academic music community. Singer-songwriter\, composer\, author of five albums. The first gusli player in the Aquarium band (cult Russian rock band) and featured on albums by 25/17\, BG\, Affinage\, THEODOR BASTARD and others. She is among the top 10 performers and groups working in the world music format according to RWMA-2021. \n* Abdellah Rais\, born and raised within Morocco’s Amazigh/Berber community\, is the founder and leader of Berber Diffusion\, a London-based group that performs its own unique blend of traditional music (Gnawa and Amazigh) infused with contemporary influences as well as doing workshops and educational activity.\n“I think my own work in promoting Berber/Amazigh culture reflects a broader struggle in the art world\, where marginalised voices often lack resources and visibility. It’s crucial that the arts become more open and accessible for all underrepresented communities. Art should be a platform where every story is valued and every culture has a chance to shine.” \n* AiDance is a collective that performs and teaches West African dance\, music and tradition. Their sharings are a whole storytelling and ancestry honoring event. \n~ Food & drink ~ bring cash! \nAccesibility info: main event space where all activities will happen + toilet is step free and wheelchair accesible. \n————— \nShü-Mom Art is a sub-saharan migrants’ art/culture/human rights collective in Tangier. Driven by the idea that\, though not being in “dreamland” Europe neither in the country of origin\, a fulfilling and dignifying life can be built through mutual support\, art and culture\, collaborating and self-organising. Challenging the power of borders and for the dignity of migrants’ lives everywhere.\nFor 5th consecutive year “One Spirit” was launched\, on occasion of Intl Women’s Day\, by and for the women in their community. Besides the collection for material support (see below)\, on the 8th of March they were protagonists of an important program of events: workshops and panels on rights\, autonomy and action for justice for all women and children. Sharing of own stories. Conversation on support for those who cross to Europe. Overview of March 8th meaning & origin. Children activities and dance! music! arts & crafts! theatre! Constituting an important date to build support networks in the long term.\nFor context and detailed info about the crowdfunding to distribute material support see this link:\nhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/one-spirit-solidarity-with-migrant-women-in-tanger \nSources of funding for what Shu-Mom Art do are very limited and hard to access in their context and the money we raise might be helpful for different needs of the work they carry forward. Their main focus\, however\, is “One Spirit”\, since the 2026 crowdfunder for it hasn’t worked that well. Let’s try to gather some ££ to send over!! And make ff this an occasion to strengthen connections across borders. \nReach out for proposals of collaboration or just to introduce yourselves and link up!\n• Facebook :\nhttp://www.facebook.com/share/1DbeMj112Q/\n• Instagram :\nhttp://www.instagram.com/shumom_shumom \nEmail : shumomart@gmail.com

SUMMARY:S.A.F.E. Book Club Fundraiser (Read Books and Fund Abortions)
DESCRIPTION:To mark the Global Day to Destigmatise Abortions on 28 March\, Supporting Abortions for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is partnering with the iconic Feminist Library for a special one-off book club fundraiser! https://www.outsavvy.com/event/33372/safe-fundraiser-the-feminist-library   We’ll be reading My Notorious Life by Kate Manning. The book is inspired by the true history of an infamous female physician and abortionist who was once called “the Wickedest Woman in New York” (Ann Trow Lohman\, better known as Madame Restell). It’s a mystery\, a family saga\, a love story\, and an exquisitely detailed portrait of 19th century America. \nThe evening is a space to discuss the book\, explore The Feminist Library’s incredible collection\, rave about abortion and raise vital funds for those being failed by healthcare systems across Europe. \nTickets are available on a sliding scale. There is also the option to donate if you can’t attend\, but still want to support 💌

SUMMARY:anarkita #4
DESCRIPTION:What does community and solidarity look like in parenthood/childhood?   How\, as parents/carers\, do we practice solidarity with children in an adult-centric society? In times of increasing authoritarianism\, how do we challenge the language of domination and separation\, and create together with children a different language? How do we sustain our radicality and best channel rage while parenting? How do we avoid burnout and resist capitalist pressures (e.g. metrics and mandates of success\, productivity\, and happiness)? – anarkita is an invitation to children\, parents and caregivers (in any body) to come together\, to share and explore experiences of parenthood/childhood\, identify common needs/struggles\, and build a shared understanding/practice of solidarity. We gather the last Saturday of every month from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM (next on Sat 28th March) at Mother House Studios (47 Slaithwaite Road\, SE13 6DJ).

SUMMARY:'Their Wars\, Our Dead! Anarchist reflections on anti-militarism since the invasion of Ukraine'\, with Jason Brannigan and Declan McCormick
DESCRIPTION:AUTONOMY NOW! PRESENT: ‘Their Wars\, Our Dead! Anarchist reflections on anti-militarism since the invasion of Ukraine’with Jason Brannigan and Declan McCormick\n‘Their Wars\, Our Dead!’\nbrings together six anarchist responses to war and militarism. The book makes the case that since the invasion of Ukraine in 2022\, a war fever has swept the anarchist movement and also a larger section of ‘the left’. The essays collected in the book seek to learn from the past in order to put forward a revolutionary yet realistic course of anarchist anti-militarism today. \nSome of the topics included are: internationalist opposition to WW1 and WW2; the mechanics of imperialist politics; conscription (and resistance to it) in Ukraine\, Russia and Israel; anti-militarist responses to the war in Ukraine; the complex relationship between anarchism and militarism in Ireland.Discussing the topic will be two of the books contributors\, Jason Brannigan and Declan McCormick. This event is organised by https://autonomynow.noblogs.org/ ‘Their Wars\, Our Dead! Anarchist reflections on anti-militarism’ by Alex Alder and Bill Beech.156 pages. Publishes by Active 2025. RRP just £5.Entry is free but please RSVP or even buy a copy of the book in advance\, for collection on entry. \n

SUMMARY:Feminist Fightback Filmclub presents: Babybird Babybird
DESCRIPTION:This March join us as we show a film that raises more questions than answers. We will be screening the Greek documentary theatrical ‘Babybird Babybird’ (2021\, 1h30) by Dimitris Bampilis and the APARÄMILLON creative team\, that was commissioned and produced by Onassis Stegi. Why we do (not) have children? Parents-to-be\, a new mother\, a midwife\, a demographer\, a sociologist\, a neuroscientist\, and an anti-natalist YouTuber share their respective opinions on the sexiest ontological question\, and take part in a documentary theater performance about the complicated relationship between our sexual life and our reproductive potential. They explore concepts and issues that include ‘low birth rate\,’ ‘overpopulation\,’ motherhood as a conscious personal choice\, pregnancy termination\, prenatal checks\, national healthcare policy\, sperm banks\, and dating apps. Using interviews and statistics\, personal testimonies and scientific studies\, discretion and humor\, they intervene into the debate regarding birthrate and parenthood\, a recurring debate since moral panic and rhetoric on the dangers of “corrupting the nation” tend to dominate it.
