SUMMARY:HA! Fundraiser for Rojava
DESCRIPTION:On Friday 10th of April\, we will be at the Royal Sovereign to raise vital funds for the humanitarian support needed by our comrades in Rojava. Stay tuned for more information\, bands\, and DJ’s to be announced. \nRojava is beset by fascist theocratic invasions on every corner. Under constant attack by regional powers with multimillion dollar technological arsenals. Under threat of territorial incursion\, massacres & genocide. Every day is an existential fight to protect what has been earned with years of struggle. Despite this\, Rojava’s light shines ever so bright\, as a powerful living example of an internationalist women-led social revolution in practice\, as an unceasing inspiration and reminder to anarchists across the world that another world is possible. That is what Rojava means to us. \nWe cannot and Rojava cannot rely on treacherous states for support\, look at the orange man in the White House\, or at David Lammy in Tottenham withdrawing all support for the KCC once he moved into government. The scene in Hackney and London relies on our Kurdish comrades and it is time for us to extend our solidarity in return. Solidarity is not a moment it’s a muscle. Keep exercising it! \n

SUMMARY:PEACH "Only Love" album launch / 72% / Upset Stomach
DESCRIPTION:A massively fun blowout awaits you at this night of punk\, rock\, noise and defiant vulnerability. Due to their electrifying live shows since their debut album in 2023\, PEACH continues their empassioned onslaught with the recent release of their second album Only Love\, which we celebrate in London with noise rock legends 72%\, and frantic math pop-punks Upset Stomach. You’re going to love them all\, so get involved NOW dammit!   Known for their stunning live performances and spine-tingling music\, PEACH were quickly snapped up to share stages and tour with legends including Mclusky\, Heavy Lungs\, CLT DRP\, LIFE\, Chiyoda Ku\, Skin Failure\, and Every Hell\, and play at festivals including Arctangent\, 2000 Trees and Chaos Theory Fest. “A fuzzing\, propulsive ball of pissed off energy\, with a soul at the centre of it all.” – Daniel P Carter (Radio 1 Rock Show) “Ellie Godwin’s voice is just something else\, a force of nature.” – Adam Walton (BBC Radio Wales/BBC Introducing/BBC Sounds) “PEACH have an undeniable power about them” – Noizze After 18 years of making music together\, 72% are still going strong with the recent release of I’m Not Happy And That’s On You Three\, their densest sounding and most unsettling collection of tracks yet\, released on new label Other Shoe\, the brainchild of Alan Moore. A perfect home for the band’s unique approach to music. It will be excellent to hear their latest tunes live. “A head-warping trip\, jittery and strange\, but always with a thrill around what you’re experiencing” – ninehertz UPSET STOMACH are a four piece band based in London and the midlands. They make a unique blend of partially digested indie\, disco\, metal\, new wave and punk all spewed out by lyricist\, baritone ukelelist and autotunist Laur Fitton\, Ed Hitchman on bass and shouts\, YSI on 7 string guitar and drummer/skater Helena Long. Beautiful\, frantic\, shoegazey math rock fun. It’s going to be an absolute belter\, so grab your tickets and join the fun! —————- ACCESSIBILITY – Ground floor entrance and bar area – 2 steps (handrails both sides) and a wheelchair ramp (handrail on right side going down) from bar/entrance to the venue level – On the venue level\, there are 2 toilet cubicles (with a step up into each) and separate urinals on ground level – Wheelchair accessible toilet on the bar level. HOWEVER it varies in functionality each time we go there\, so if your visit depends on this\, we strongly advise you to contact New River Studios ahead of the event to check the current condition of the accessible toilet\, and if they can accommodate any other specific enquiries bookings@newriverstudios.com https://newriverstudios.com/contact/ – If you need a chair during the gig\, we’ll make sure you have a seat near the front on one side with a view of the stage (or wherever you want). SUMMARY:Nesian Punx #2 - a night of Pasifika POC Punk
DESCRIPTION:8pm to 11pm\, doors open at 7:45pm\nTickets £6 in advance (book here) or £8 on the door\nNesian Punx #2\nA night of Pasifika – poc punk raising money for Free West Papua Campaign.\nSince the first days of Indonesian colonial occupation in 1963\, the people and land of West Papua have been under relentless attack. Over 500\,000 West Papuan civilians have been killed by Indonesia’s military.\nRacism and discrimination are a daily reality and basic human rights including freedom of speech are outlawed. The Indonesian Government have banned international media and human rights organisations from operating in West Papua\, ensuring that news about what is happening rarely reaches the outside world.\nThe Free West Papua Campaign was launched in 2004\, led by Benny Wenda – an exiled West Papuan independence leader and Chairman of the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP).\nThe Free West Papua Campaign is bringing the story of West Papua to the world and campaigning for freedom and justice in West Papua. It is time to end the violence of the last 50 years and give West Papuans the freedom to decide their own future.\nWith the return of the mighty Half/Time- māori led punk band from Aotearoa back in London on their UK tour and lairy London punx -GRUNT and the wider diaspora community are teaming up to raise monies for our West Papuan brothers and sisters.\nTalks from Free West Papua Campaign and Boycott for West Papua and a special performance from The Lani Singers – traditional West Papuan folk band playing songs rooted in resistance and celebrating Papuan culture (tbc)\nBand merch/Prints/Stickers/Patches up for grabs! \nBANDS \nHalf/Time – are a Māori post-punk band hailing from Aotearoa (so-called New Zealand) – they’re loud\, angry and making change through music. Through visceral and vulnerable waiata (songs) they invite audiences to engage and learn about Aotearoa New Zealand’s colonised past\, its present and hopes for its future. These are unsanitized\, undiluted histories that are delivered without apology\, encompassing the personal and political\, amplifying the ancestral echoes of te ao Māori (the Māori world) and giving voice to the injustices faced by indigenous communities today. FFO Dead Pioneers\, Idles\, Pixies\, The Muslims and Big Brave. \nGRUNT – Lairy three piece London punx. Drums bass n vocals but not techno… brown queer and fvcking tired. ”Raw self-righteous feminist punk\, reminiscent of the burgeoning 70’s punk scene” – Laviea Thomas for Decolonise Fest. \nHemi Hemingway – With the rock’n’roll panache of a dive bar matador and the emotional force of a knife in the guts\, Hemi Hemingway makes music that thrills\, spills and breaks hearts. The effortlessly slick New Zealand star has a connoisseur’s ear for the finest parts of musical history\, sweeping 60s rock\, 50s sheen and 80s romanticism into the present day\, refurbishing and refashioning them into something new and fresh. At home in the spotlight\, he’s a showman in the best troubadour traditions\, but one with real depth\, showcasing swagger and vulnerability in equal measure. \nThe Lani Singers – from the Baliem Valley in the remote central highland region of West Papua in the south-west Pacific\, play songs that are rooted in the sacred rituals of the Lani tribe. Formed in UK 2004 as a way of celebrating and preserving Papuan culture – the Indonesian regime have outlawed traditional music and cultural practices in West Papua. The band have played at music festivals in the UK including Glastonbury\, Musicport\, Port Eliot\, the Mayor of London’s Thames Festival and Celebrating Sanctuary. They have also performed live sessions on the ‘World Routes’ show on BBC Radio 3 and on DJ Ritu’s ‘A World In London’ show on BBC Radio London.

SUMMARY:ARTIFICIAL GO + NO PEELING
DESCRIPTION:Upset The Rhythm presents… \nARTIFICIAL GO\nNO PEELING\nWednesday 13 May\nNew River Studios\, 199 Eade Rd\, Harringay\, London\, N4 1DN\n7.30pm | £10 | Tickets: https://link.dice.fm/P1af2a986141 \nARTIFICIAL GO hail from Cincinnati\, USA\, and bring the beat to life with their New / No / Whatever Wave weirdness! Last year they released ‘Musical Chairs’\, building on 2024’s ‘Hopscotch Fever’\, an album of ten existential post-punk chamber pop tracks. Recorded at Lambda Research and the haunted attic of the band’s house\, the core trio of Angie Willcutt\, Micah Wu\, and Cole Gilfilen have traded the sparse jangle of their debut for a broader\, fuller sound. ‘Musical Chairs’ deftly meshes the angular excitability of ‘Hopscotch Fever’ with a spectral warmth and expensiveness able to encompass acoustic guitars\, Wu’s almost metaphysical funk bass lines\, tape loops and blips and bleeps\, a guest spot by Eric Dietrich (of The Drin and Sorry Eric) on saxophone\, and Gilfilen’s hip moving boom-bap drumming add to the excitement.\nIn Willcutt’s hands\, the struggles\, and at times terrors\, of our current age are playfully subverted with agile world play and dynamic vocalization that moves from sweet and dreamy to cartoonishly exaggerated as she charts an emotional course through such topics as the difficulties of playing the role of “woman” in a misogynist world (“Playing Puppet”) or the injustice of anthropocentric hierarchy (“Tightrope Walker”). Musical Chairs is serious music not meant to be taken too seriously\, a playful act of resistance\, a meditation on the good and bad of this world\, and ultimately a remarkable statement on the continuing growth of Artificial Go.\nhttps://artificialgo.bandcamp.com/ \nNO PEELING formed in 2025 as a studio project by five friends in the fertile Nottingham DIY underground. September 2025’s self-titled EP was the perfect introduction to the No Peeling universe. Bandcamp Daily picked it as an Essential Release\, calling it “a clanging collection of get-in-get-out egg punk that doesn’t ask for more than 10 minutes of your time and overdelivers on every front”. It managed to cram a lifetime of idea-nuggets into seven songs that rarely exceeded the minute mark. A blast of enthusiasm and hyperactivity\, the EP was the audio equivalent of a barrage firework: exhilarating and energising. Whilst the first EP was completed before the band had played live; the forthcoming EP2 hits a little differently. \nEP2 has the garage punk clatter and sparkly efficiency of their debut but is somehow faster and weirder. The guitar and synth seem to be engaged in a constant (playful) fight\, tumbling further and further away from the song structure being held together (and propelled) by one of the tightest rhythm sections around. The scrawl and skronk might occasionally recall No Wave but those grooves are locked down. This all provides the perfect foundation for the wry\, dry observations of Sophie Diver. From pasta post and fluff-clad delinquents to clingfilm catastrophes and poor working conditions\, all modern life’s bases are covered and emerge miraculously from a magic-eye explosion of clangs\, thwacks and bloops. \nhttps://nopeeling.bandcamp.com/album/no-peeling  \nhttps://www.upsettherhythm.co.uk/

SUMMARY:Half/Time (NZ) at Hope & Anchor w/Leao
DESCRIPTION:Half/Time are a Māori post-punk band hailing from Aotearoa (so-called New Zealand) – they’re loud\, angry and making change through music. Through visceral and vulnerable waiata (songs) they invite audiences to engage and learn about Aotearoa New Zealand’s colonised past\, its present and hopes for its future. These are unsanitised\, undiluted histories that are delivered without apology\, encompassing the personal and political\, amplifying the ancestral echoes of te ao Māori (the Māori world) and giving voice to the injustices faced by indigenous communities today. FFO Dead Pioneers\, Idles\, Pixies\, The Muslims and Big Brave.\nWe are privileged to be joined by our friends from home\, Leao!

SUMMARY:CLAIMED CHOICE + SLOW FACTION + HEARING TESTS + LETS AV IT
DESCRIPTION:We’re back at the Blue Monk for another exciting date bringing together different variations of Oi\, punk hardcore and associated genres. \nTo headline\, none other that Claimed Choice\, coming over from Lyon (France) and bringing their own take on Oi music. As far as French Oi is concerned\, it is a clear defined genre\, that Claimed Choice take on with a younger and more rock n roll approach\, on the likes of bands such as Grade 2 or the Chisel – making themselves a core contributor of the new wave of skinhead music.\nTo represent our local scene – Slow Faction brings traditional ’77 punk rock to the stage. A band that needs no introduction due to their many years of activity and involvement in the London scene. Fast\, loud\, efficient\, it’s a set you simply cannot miss.\nWe’re following up with 2 more recent and upcoming local talent\, starting with Hearing Tests\, a DIY hardcore punk band from north London\, bringing on some raw antifascist punk to the stage\, with a set of classic hardcore punk that’ll give your neck something to remember the next day.\nFinally to open\, recently created Let’s Av It brings on Oi music with heavy hardcore breakdown\, making a fresh and aggressive take on tradionational Oi. Buckfast\, Fred Perry and very politically infused\, that’s Lets Av It in a nutshell.\nWhat say you London? \nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/claimed-choice-slow-faction-hearing-tests…
